About Amani
Amani, a former jazz dancer and competing gymnast, began studying belly dance while living abroad in Osaka, Japan with the Egyptian dancer, Nashwa. Soon after, Amani made her first trip of many to Cairo, Egypt to continue a more intense study of this dance. She became very familiar with the dance scene in Cairo and studied with some of the best Oriental dance teachers in the world, including Raqia Hassan, Dina, Aida Nour, and Dandash. While in Cairo, she also studied the "Reda" technique directly under Mahmoud Reda, renown teacher and choreographer and pioneer of dance theatre in Egypt.
While residing in Japan and making frequent trips to Cairo, Egypt, Amani taught and performed regularly at weddings, dinner shows, trade shows throughout Japan and appeared on several TV programs. She also became a partner with Amira Patricia in the dance duo called "Zeina Dancers." Amira Patricia and Amani started Zeina Dancers in 1999 and performed and taught workshops in Japan. Zeina Dancers were invited to perform in many prestigious shows and in 2005 they were featured in the well-known "Kansai Time-Out" magazine.
Amani's studies in Egypt clearly inform her work as a teacher and performer and to all of her performances Amani brings joy, grace and professionalism.
